Charles Turley has been a Resident Artist with the Wichita Grand Opera since the 2010-11 Season, having performed numerous roles with Wichita Grand Opera. Most recently he sang the roles of the Marquis D’Obigny in La Traviata, Marullo in Rigoletto, Samuel in The Pirates of Penzance, and the Customs Sergeant in La Bohème. His previous roles with Wichita Grand Opera include Bartolo in The Barber of Seville, Sciarrone in Tosca, Montano in Otello, Bartolo in The Marriage of Figaro, the Bonze in Madama Butterfly, Bogdanovitch in The Merry Widow, and Frank in Die Fledermaus.

 

In addition to his many operatic appearances, Turley has performed frequently with numerous symphonies and in solo recital throughout the U.S. and Italy.  He is a member of the voice faculty of Friends University and the Wichita Chamber Chorale, teaches a large private voice studio, and serves as the Traditional Music Director of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church.  He balances his down time between his large family at home, and his friends at Hot Asana Yoga Studio.
