Shayna Leahy

Shayna Leahy returns this season to direct “Madama Butterfly.” She most recently directed Wichita Grand Opera’s “Turandot” in 2015, and served as Assistant Director for Wichita Grand Opera’s company premiere of “William Tell.” Previously, Ms. Leahy directed Wichita Grand Opera productions of “Otello,” “Il trovatore,” “Madama Butterfly” (2011), and “Aida.” She previously served as Assistant Director of Martina Arroyo’s Prelude to Performance Program in New York, and is currently the Director of Vocal Studies at Highland Community College, leading a nationally-recognized opera education initiative in collaboration with Wichita Grand Opera. Ms. Leahy began her association with Wichita Grand Opera in 2003 as Assistant to the Artistic Director, Ms. Pent.
