Tumbao is the name of a unique and fantastic Puerto-Rican family band, resident in Wichita since 2014; the name of their band comes from Spanish, meaning “Rhythm/Swagger/Soul!” They are much celebrated whenever they appear in local restaurants, events, and celebrations, bringing a deeply authentic and high-energy salsa sound.
Come dance the evening into the night and have a margarita with the WGO as we celebrate our beautiful Latino traditions and community! Put a flower in your hair! Be inspired to swirl and twirl the night away to Latin rhythms.
This Cinco de Mayo event is to aid the Wichita Grand Opera in producing a full-scale Latin music concert at the Wichita Art Museum on July 1st. It’s PARTY TIME – BUEN PROVENCHO Y SALUD! – come and dance with us!
