Chistopher Curcuruto
Christopher Curcuruto makes his Wichita Grand Opera debut as Alidoro in Rossini’s La Cenerentola, a role he previously performed with Nashville Opera.
Recent performances include Friedrich Bhaer in Little Women with Fort Worth Opera, where his performance of Adamo’s setting of Goethe’s Kennst du das Land was described as “stunning” and “one of the best vocal performances of the show.” Other roles include Simone in Gianni Schicchi with Amarillo Opera, and Figaro, Leporello, and Don Alfonso in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, and Così fan tutte. Additional credits include Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Colatinus in The Rape of Lucretia, Kecal in The Bartered Bride, and Lodovico in Otello.
Concert appearances include Salome with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra under Fabio Luisi and Melani’s L’Europa with the UNT Baroque Orchestra in the Czech Republic.
Mr. Curcuruto has held artist residencies with Nashville Opera, Fort Worth Opera, The Dallas Opera, and Pittsburgh Festival Opera. He has also created roles in several world premieres and educational productions with Fort Worth Opera and The Dallas Opera.
Originally from Australia, he holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas. He currently serves as Director of Opera and Instructor of Vocal Pedagogy at the University of Texas at Arlington.
