Hilary Grace Taylor

Hilary Grace Taylor, mezzo-soprano, a native of Dallas, TX, has most recently performed with Chautauqua Opera, Painted Sky Opera, Opera Las Vegas, and Pittsburgh Festival Opera. In Wichita, Ms. Taylor performed Paquette (Candide) with Wichita Grand Opera and was the Alto soloist in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Wichita Symphony Orchestra this Spring. 


Ms. Taylor was a Semifinalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and is frequently a finalist or semifinalist in national competitions including the Fort Worth Opera McCammon Voice Competition and the Shreveport Opera Singer of the Year Competition. Having a passion for standard and contemporary repertoire, including Oratorio and Music Theater, her role credits include Carmen (Carmen), Mother/Witch (Hansel & Gretel), Mrs. Gross (Turn of the Screw), Taller Daughter (Proving Up), Sappho (Lysistrata), Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Desirée Armfeldt (A Little Night Music), Marcellina (Le nozza di Figaro), Regina (Regina) and Gertrude Stein (After Life by Tom Cipullo). Ms. Taylor is often engaged as the soloist in the Verdi Requiem and Handel’s Messiah, and is currently Assistant Professor of Voice at Wichita State University.
